- The Vintage One series combines the best of the classic C.G. Conn trumpets with a modern design.
It has a .459” medium large boreOne of the biggest misconceptions is that the bore size determines an instrument’s tone quality. While the bore does play a role, primarily the rate of taper in the mouthpipe and bell section influence whether the sound is dark or bright. A trumpet bore is measured at the inside diameter of the second valve slide. While large bore instruments may have greater volume of sound and carrying power, they require more effort to play. Most musicians will prefer a medium-large bore. and a one piece hand hammered yellow brass, rose brass or sterling silver bellRose brass, softer and more red than the standard yellow brass due to a higher copper content, results in a warm tone. Sterling silver bells (92.5% pure silver) create a focused sound with great projection.. A #46 standard mouthpipeThe venturi (constriction) and rate of taper in the mouthpipe affect the trumpet’s characteristic sound. Like the bell, mouthpipes with fast tapers result in warm tones, while slow tapers produce bright sounds. Musicians desiring a more open, less resistant instrument should consider the reversed construction. By eliminating a step where the pipe connects to the main tuning slide, the air moves more freely. Reversed construction results in a longer pipe maintaining constant taper for improved intonation.
34: Slightly more focus than the standard 46 with excellent upper register. 46 (Standard): Balanced resistance for all around performance. 50: Very open with less resistance for dark sound and large bore feel. is normally used, but with the choice of #34 or a #50 mouthpipe instead.
- Two tuning slidesThe rounded main tuning slide crook, in eliminating tight bends, moves the air more freely for an open feel. are included, one with a more rounded curve and a push button waterkey, and the other with a more square shape and a lever style waterkey. Reverse mouthpipe is available with any mouthpipe configuration. A third slide water key can be added, either with the push button or lever style.
- The patented Modular Valve Weight (MVW)The MVW System allows each player to change the sound and response of the trumpet by adding or removing weight to the bottom valve caps. System provides flexibility in response.
- This trumpet comes with MonelThe use of non-corrosive Monel metal for pistons was pioneered by Vincent Bach. Carefully aligned ports, enclosed bronze springs, and hand-lapped fit assure years of light, trouble-free action. Nylon guides eliminate valve noise. pistons.
