Since 1887, when it began producing reed organs, the Yamaha Corporation in Japan (then Nippon Gakki Co., Ltd.) has grown to become the world's largest manufacturer of a full line of musical instruments, including those at the professional level. Also, Yamaha provides a place for studying music, sets opportunities for presenting one's own compositions, and creates an environment for the enjoyment of a variety of musical endeavors. Since Yamaha Music Foundation was established in 1966, it has generated a wide range of music activities throughout global society, including Yamaha music schools, and the Junior Original Concert. Strong commitment to promote and support music education and popularization is one of the most significant elements to distinguish Yamaha from its competitors.

Custom Z Tenors:

YSL-891Z & YSL-897Z. The YSL-891Z was developed with Wycliffe Gordon and Andy Martin, and has two interchangeable leadpipes, one made for Gordon, and one for Martin. Designed with world-renowned trombonists Andy Martin and Alastair Kay, the YSL-897Z Custom Z trombone is perfectly suited for a wide variety of performance situations and features two interchangeable leadpipes named Z1 for Mr. Martin and Z2 for Mr. Kay.

Pro Series Tenors:

YSL-610, 620, 630, and 640. Yamaha professional trombones have long been popular thanks to their quick and agile response throughout all registers and dynamics. Newly redesigned to keep these fine qualities, while adding design features from the top of the line Xeno series. The 600 series features a two piece bell which provides maximum tone, projection and dark tonal color. F attachment trombones feature hand lapped, large rotary valves for less resistance and quicker response.

Xeno Tenors:

YSL-881 series. The Xeno features heavier gauge brass and a thick-walled, one-piece brazed bell which has been hand-hammered thousands of times for the ultimate in a big orchestral sound, even without an F attachment. The tone is flexible with myriad tonal colors, and gives you both powerful projection at fortissimo and subtle control in the most delicate passages.

Xeno Tenors with F Attachment:

YSL-822 series. Xeno trombones feature a heavier gauge brass and a thick-walled, one-piece brazed bell which has been hand-hammered thousands of times for the ultimate in a big orchestral sound. The F-atachment section gives a free-blowing response and the entire instrument has an evenness and balance you have to experience to believe. The tone is flexible with myriad tonal colors, and gives you both powerful projection at fortissimo and subtle control in the most delicate passages.

Pro Series Bass:

YBL-620G. Yamaha Professional model bass trombones have been created in cooperation with some of the world's greatest musicians. They play evenly and comfortably in all registers, and feature a warm yet commanding tone. The intonation and playability are superb for a truly 'state-of-the-art' bass trombone. The YBL-620G features a dark rich tone with powerful projection. The outer slide is nickel-silver for durability and the valves are in an offset configuration.

Xeno Basses:

YBL-822G & YBL-830. Yamaha combined the knowledge they learned in creating the Xeno tenor trombones with feedback from some of the world's great bass trombonists. The results speak for themselves; a state-of-the-art bass trombone with all specifications redesigned by an elite team of Yamaha designers and R&D experts. The 822G was developed with the great artist Douglas Yeo of the Boston Symphony. The sound from the gold-brass bell is even warmer, the valve register more responsive, and the overall playability more flexible. The 830 model includes features such as the newly designed yellow brass bell with a thinner wall for enhanced response, nickel silver slide crook for more substance to the sound, and a new rotor design which improves playability.
