From top to bottom, Getzen trombones are known around the world for their playability and durability. The same important construction techniques used to make Custom Series trombones so widely respected, are put into practice during the making of all of our trombone lines. So what makes Getzen trombones so well respected? The most important thing is the slide. Every Getzen Trombone features nickel silver inside slide tubes. These tubes are chrome plated to ensure that they stand up to the tests of time, and each tube is barrel-shaped to ensure the fastest and smoothest possible slide action. In addition, each slide tube is drawn using special tooling designed specifically for drawing the straightest possible trombone tubes. This, and the fact that every tube is straightened by hand, guarantees that you won't find a trombone slide anywhere that is faster or smoother than a Getzen. In addition to the finest slides, Getzen trombones also feature top quality hand-spun bells in a variety of gauges and metals. The upper line trombones feature several optional bells designed to meet the needs of the specific player. Getzen Eterna and Custom Series trombones feature conventional and axial flow valves respectively. Each of which are manufactured to highest possible standards. Custom Series Tenor: Eterna Tenor: Eterna rotor tenor trombones are available with either yellow or red brass 8 1/2” 22 gauge bells. The red brass bell also includes red brass bows and branches. The slides have hand straightened nickel silver inside tubes that are chrome plated with barrel shaped stockings as well as yellow brass outside tubes with a nickel silver end crook. The entire instrument is clear lacquer finished. Also available is a smaller bore rotor trombone, .525” with a conventional rotor and open wrap. The bell on this instrument is an 8” 22 gauge yellow brass with a clear lacquer finish. This series also features a jazz style straight trombone, with a .508” smaller bore and 8” 22 gauge yellow brass bell. The slides have hand straightened nickel silver inside tubes that are chrome plated with barrel shaped stockings as well as lightweight yellow brass outside tubes with a yellow brass end crook. The entire instrument is clear lacquer finished. All the Eterna trombones include a hard shell wood case and a Getzen silver plated mouthpiece. Custom Series Bass: Eterna Bass: The 1052 series, played by many professional bass trombonists and often seen in school bands and orchestras, is an independent rotor system where players are able to access each rotor attachment individually. It has an amazingly efficient dual gauge 9 1/2” yellow brass bell that gives it great projection. It has a .562” bore and an open wrap. The 1062 series has a dependent rotor system. Solo bass trombonists, jazz musicians, and other players who enjoy a quick-responding, free-blowing valve section favor it. It has a .562/.578” dual bore with an open wrap, a 9 1/2” 23 gauge yellow or red brass bell, and a clear lacquer finish. All the Eterna trombones include a hard shell wood case and a Getzen silver plated mouthpiece. Visit the official Getzen website for more information. |
