Features

  • Superbly handcrafted instrument, world renowned for its beauty of tone.

  • The flute of choice for many of the world’s leading flautists.

  • Haynes has perfected their designs over 120 years of flute making in Boston, Massachusetts.

  • Available in three thicknesses of Solid Silver, 10K, 14K, and 19.5K Gold, as well as Platinum.

  • In addition, Haynes has created several combinations of metals. The 5% gold flute tubing is 95% silver and 5% gold, made in a .014” thickness and comes with soldered toneholes. The “Fusion I” outside material is a combination of 95% silver and 5% platinum, while the inside material is 14k rose gold. The tubing thickness is .014” and it is available with soldered toneholes. The “Fusion O” outside material is 14k Rose Gold, while the inside is a combination of 95% Silver and 5% Platinum. The tubing thickness is .014” and it is available with soldered toneholes.

  • Many key configurations are offered.

  • Four headjoint cuts are offered. The MS1 is the most popular style, with moderate resistance and a comfortable modern lip plate. Most often used in Europe, the MS2 is very free blowing, with a brilliant sound and more emphasis on higher overtones. The MS3 is even less resistant due to the use of a slightly lower Riser/Wall, optimal for the flautist looking for maximum control, color, and sensitivity. The Piedmont is their traditional cut, modeled after the vintage Haynes style. This headjoint produces a deep, dark sound with increased resistance.
