Throughout its history, Fox has sought to find and develop technical expertise and has been receptive to modifying its instruments to suit the needs and tastes of its customers. It supplies a broad base of bassoonists around the world, and an increasing group of oboists in North America and is becoming recognized as a standard in each field it serves. Some of the standard upgrades Fox uses in all its oboes are Teflon tipped stainless steel adjusting screws, stainless steel arbors and wire springs, and heavy silver plating on all the keywork.

Fox Model 800:

This professional instrument is made with a select grenadilla body with metal lined tenon sockets and silver plated posts, bands, and bell ring. The keys and hinge tubing are nickel silver with heavy silver plating. The mechanism is a handmade full conservatory system, including split ring Eb/E trill key, F# key tab, third octave key, low Bb vent key, left hand F, alternate C, articulated C#, and bell key adjusting screw. It has cork pads on low C and above and an adjustable thumb rest.

Fox Model 400:

This oboe is made with a select grenadilla body with metal lined tenon sockets and silver plated posts, bands, and bell ring. The keys and hinge tubing are nickel silver with heavy silver plating. The mechanism is a handmade full conservatory system, including split ring Eb/E trill key, F# key tab, third octave key, low Bb vent key, left hand F, alternate C, and articulated C#. It has cork pads on low C and above.

Fox Model 450:

This oboe is made with a select grenadilla lower joint and bell and a high quality plastic resin upper joint for durability. It has metal lined tenon sockets and silver plated posts, bands, and bell ring. The keys and hinge tubing are nickel silver with heavy silver plating. The mechanism is a handmade full conservatory system, including split ring Eb/E trill key, F# key tab, third octave key, low Bb vent key, left hand F, alternate C, and articulated C#. It has cork pads on low C and above.

Fox Model 300:

This oboe is made with Fox’s high quality plastic resin body. The bore is hand reamed and finished by Fox craftsmen. The posts, bands and bell ring are silver plated. The keys and hinge tubing are nickel silver with heavy silver plating. The mechanism is a handmade full conservatory mechanism including split ring Eb/E trill key, F# key tab, third octave key, low Bb vent key, left hand F, alternate C, and articulated C#. It has cork pads on low C and above.

Renard Model 330 Artist:

This oboe is made with Fox’s high quality plastic resin body. The bore is hand reamed and finished by Fox craftsmen. The posts, bands and bell ring are silver plated. The keys and hinge tubing are nickel silver with heavy silver plating. The mechanism is a handmade modified conservatory system including left hand F, alternate C, articulated C#, and the F# key tab. It has cork pads on low C and above.

Renard Model 333 Protege:

This oboe is made with Fox’s high quality plastic resin body. The bore is hand reamed and finished by Fox craftsmen. The posts, bands and bell ring are silver plated. The keys and hinge tubing are nickel silver with heavy silver plating. The mechanism is a handmade modified conservatory system, including left hand F key, F# key tab, and a solid non-articulated C# key. It has cork pads on low C and above.
